Description
The classic game of two-coloured discs: trap your rival’s discs in a straight line and flip them. When nobody can move, whoever has more wins.
An honest rival. The computer never cheats or rolls hidden dice: it sees what you see. Four levels, from Easy, which grabs lots of discs, to Expert, which hardly ever slips.
You see what happens. A dot marks where you can play and, if you hold your finger down, you see which discs would flip first. The disc count is always in view.
Hints that teach. If you get stuck, the hint marks a good square and tells you why: “a corner: it can never be flipped”.
The daily endgame. A game that is nearly over, the same for everyone, where only one move leads to victory. You can also play with a friend on the same phone.
Genuinely calm. No ads, no purchases and no accounts. The computer thinks on your own device and your games stay there. In English, Spanish and Catalan.
How to play
Players take turns placing a disc of their colour so that one or more of the rival’s discs are trapped in a straight line between the new disc and another of theirs: across, down or diagonally. Trapped discs flip over. If you can’t trap any, you pass. When nobody can move, whoever has more discs wins.
Tips to get started
- Corners can never be flipped: they are the best squares on the board.
- Avoid playing next to an empty corner if you can: it often gives it away to your rival.
- Early on, more discs is not better: try to leave your rival with few moves.
